Facts

  • Beverly Hills voters approved a plan in 2008 that would allow a new Waldorf Astoria hotel as well as two condominium towers. A total of 110 condominiums would be split between an 18-story tower along Santa Monica Boulevard and an 8-story tower along Wilshire Boulevard.
  • In 2016, the developer proposed combining the condos into a single 26-story tower designed by Robert AM Stern. The tower would be located along Santa Monica Boulevard and allow for a 1.7-acre open space along Wilshire Boulevard.
  • The voters rejected the measure by 55% on November 8, 2016. The developer now intends to move forward with the two-tower plan that was approved in 2008.
