The construction of the Far Eastern Plaza was one of the largest and most technically complex ever undertaken in Taiwan. The structure was designed to withstand both typhoon and earthquake loadings and was constructed by the 'top down' method. Construction time including the basement was 3 years.
The construction costs of the project were US $380 million. The complex consists of the two 41-story towers, with 170,000 square metres of high quality office accommodation, a 450 room 5-star hotel, a 6-storey podium housing prime retail, swimming pools, restaurants, and function rooms, and a 5-storey basement, with parking for 700 cars.
