Bozeman is the principal city and Gallatin County seat of government. Founded in 1864 as a supply town along the Bozeman trail. The town grew steadily through the later part of the 19th Century and Montana State University was founded in 1893. Today, the city is experiencing a boom as people discover the many outdoor activities throughout the area.
