A suburb located 14 miles south of Cleveland in Southwest Cuyahoga County. First settled in 1811 by Seth Paine, the area along the western Cuyahoga River Valley was named for Paine’s employers the Breck family, the first property owners of this section of the Western Reserve who remained on the East Coast. Incorporated as a city in 1960, Brecksville’s largest employers are B F Goodrich and the Veterans’ Hospital. The intersection of Ohio State Routes 21 and 82 forms Brecksville Town Square.
