Located 10 miles southeast of downtown Cleveland bordering the city's Lee-Miles neighborhood. Part of Cuyahoga County's original Warrensville Township, the village was founded in 1927 and named for the area's earliest settler, Daniel Warren (1786-1862) of Acworth, New Hampshire. The post-World War II, suburban influx increased the village's population by 20 times between 1940 and 1960 the year it incorporated as a city. Suburban Community Hospital opened its facility on Warrensville Road in 1957 and has since continued expansion of the complex.
