North America's premier ski resort, Whistler-Blackcomb has been voted year after year as the continent's favorite place to go by readers of the top 3 ski magazines. As a result there are many hotels and condominiums sprouting up in the village and surrounding area. There is a sustainable growth plan in place to retain the character of Whistler despite its wild popularity. So popular the IOC awarded Vancouver, and Whistler, the 2010 Winter Olympics, February 12-28. The Paralympic Games for athletes with disabilities will run from March 5-14, 2010.

Fact: On August 27, 1965 London Mountain's name was officially changed to Whistler Mountain, and opened for skiing on February 15, 1966.
