Lakeland is a city located in the heart of Florida's citrus belt between Orlando and Tampa. It is known as the home of Florida Southern College, with its outstanding campus designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Industries include citrus products, aircraft, fertilizer, and ceramic tile. Thirteen lakes within the city's borders give it its name. Lakeland was first settled in 1883 and incorporated in 1885.
