Stateline is a census-designated place and unincorporated town that straddles the southern shore of Lake Tahoe just 28 miles (45 kilometers) southwest of Carson City, Nevada's capital city. It takes its name from being on the Nevada/California state line. The small resort town is home to six casinos, four of which are resort casinos. Stateline functions as a twin city with neighboring South Lake Tahoe.
