Edison Keith Estate, Phillipi Mansion, Phillipi Plantation

Sarasota County purchased the property after the death of Mae Hansen-Prodie in 1986. The property was turned into a county park and the mansion is now used as a community center for meetings and seminars.
Added to the National Registry of Historic Places on March 14, 1991.
Originally part of public lands given to Florida when Florida entered into the Union.
Edison Keith Jr. died in the home in 1939 and the property was sold to Chicago doll clothing maker Mae Hanson-Prodie. Hanson-Prodie turned the mansion into a luxury hotel "Phillipi Plantation" in the 1950s.
