  • Imploded to make way for an expansion cargo terminal as part of the Port of New Orleans.
  • This was the first grain elevator to be constructed along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
  • On April 5, 1938, a fatal explosion at the elevator resulted in the deaths of five people.
