The 1977 addition to Danbury Hospital consists of a nine-story tower (Shepley, Bullfinch, Richardson & Abbot) atop a three-story wing (Douglas Orr, deCossy, Winder & Associates) designed in 1972.
It was designed to accommodate a partial solar energy system on the roof, which was subsequently added.
