Facts

  • Built by the estate of E.M. Fowler, the building was originally leased to the Kline's Ladies Wear. The business resided at the property until 1958, which was replaced by Franklin-Simon's Ladies Wear, which closed in 1977. It was then purchased by local developer Howard Fridman who housed Pam's, a women and men's clothier, until the mid 1980's.
  • Bedrock Detroit puchased the building in April 2019 and began a renovation to convert the vacant building into office space on floors 2-8 and retail space on the ground floor and in the basement.
  • The Fowler Building has been vacant since its ground floor retailers closed in 2002.
