  • After completion of this building, the city has focused on redevelopment of the adjacent Public Safety Building block. Construction on The Penfield, which will incorporate the old Public Safety Building across Minnesota Street, should begin in 2007.
  • Site work began in February 2004.
  • The building is named for Elmer L. Andersen, Minnesota Governor from 1960-1963.
  • This site was once home to the Capitol Square Building.
  • State employees began occupying the building in October 2005 and the parking ramp exterior was complete by early December 2005.
  • This is the only major State of Minnesota office building located south of Interstate 94/35E.
  • St. Paul's downtown fire station moved here from the Public Safety Building across Minnesota Street.
