Facts

  • Much to the surprise of visitors expecting a traditional layout, the main reception room is located on the 15th floor instead of ground level.
  • A 100 square meter electronic billboard was originally planned for the top of the west façade, but possible overweighting by snow cancelled the idea.
  • The tower was the first high-rise in Poland to take advantage of "twin face" double curtain wall. This technique is intended to cut heating costs.
  • Features an inner atrium between the 18th and 25th floors, topped by a special construction of computer-controlled mirrors which reflect sunlight and direct it to the interior. In case of an overabundance of daylight, roller blinds unroll.
  • The elevators feature an unusual control system, with elevator button panels located outside. Having chosen the desired floor, the panel points at the right elevator to enter.
  • When construction began the tower was being built as "Les Tours Business Research Center", but during construction it was purchased by the Polish insurance company PZU and renamed "PZU Tower".
